Founded in 2005 by Dennis "Kippy" Jones in Cincinnati, Ohio, 7 Hills Racing (7HR) is an amateur cycling team dedicated to entry-level racing, fitness, community service and fun for its members. The 7 Hills Racing team exists to enhance riding skills, improve fitness, compete at an entry levels and beyond, and increase community interest in cycling, while maintaining the clubs welcoming, non-elitist attitude.
7HR is an Ohio non-profit organization. We are governed by a leadership council that makes policy and financial decisions. The organization is run on an all-volunteer basis. Road racing is the heart and soul of our team, particularly cat 4/5 and citizen's racing for men and women, and we race classic road events, cyclocross, criteriums, stage and circuit races throughout the region. We also participate in tri- and duathlons under the 7HR identity, as well as support an off-road MTB contingent (expert, sport and beginner classes), and tour extensively locally, nationally and internationally. We select 2-3 community support tours and ride them each season, including rides of JDRF, MS Society, and Davis Phinney Foundation rides. Our team members wrench, speak and provide support at community cycling events like bike rodeos, juniors events, and various tours. We have five League-certified Road Bike instructors on our team; who teach safe cycling concepts at classes throughout the year. We also have three USCF-certified coaches on our team that plan and execute our winter training program.
